About the Academy

The Academy is a corporation organized under the provisions of the Education Law of the State of New York, by virtue of a charter granted by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, under date of September 27, 1963. The Suffolk Academy of Medicine is the educational arm of the Suffolk County Medical Society. The purposes of the Academy shall be to establish, conduct, operate and maintain an Academy of Medicine to provide educational opportunities and training of a postgraduate nature for members of the medical profession and to diffuse among the people knowledge of the achievements of scientific medicine.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the Suffolk Academy of Medicine (SAM) CME mission is to help maintain the best possible health care for the residents in Suffolk County by providing sufficient “quality” continuing medical education within Suffolk County to meet the educational needs of physicians and other health care professionals practicing in Suffolk County.
